Abstract

This paper presents a descriptive and statistical analysis of primary data obtained from university librarians in India. University librarians play a vital role in the educational setting. Librarians face psychological strain due to the heavy workload of collection development and maintaining discipline in the library. As a result of job stress, librarians may have physical sickness, substance misuse, and a variety of other difficulties. Based on the current research the final conclusion is that University librarians consider that they face occupational stress in work place. It is clear that the factors affect large numbers of librarians. The women librarians face very less gender stress.
